Meet the founder, Kristi

I studied accounting at Central Washington University and started my accounting career with a well-known Seattle Catering company. 

To understand the story behind the numbers, I began diving deeper into the business operations and strategy which led me to grow into the business manager role, overseeing all the financial aspects through all of their companies and strategically building growth plans.

During COVID, the family-owned company I worked for over a decade was acquired by a corporation. I stayed on with hopes of a larger role, but quickly realized a corporate role wasn’t the right fit for me.

After 14 years in the hospitality industry, I left my leadership position as the company's Business Manager to pursue my own business servicing others. Thus, The Bookkeeper Edit was born!

A silver lining for me was the clarity I gained on the life I was craving—a life that I could make an impact directly on others’ lives and be more present with my family.

My passions truly lie in helping small to medium-sized businesses scale strategically. Coming from the hospitality industry, coordinating in the chaos is my jam. I truly love seeing a business transform from a reactive to a proactive state, and the lucrative life that then flourishes.

Our Goal

To cultivate an exceptional experience that inspires you to tackle your finances so you can fulfill your passion and grow your business to the next level.

An in-depth look at our process:

  • 01. Discovery

    You’ll initiate the process by reaching out, then we’ll meet via Zoom to understand more about your business and get to know each other. It’s important to us that we’re the right fit (if you’re a Friends fan we’ve got a good feeling it’ll work out).

  • 02. Diagnostic

    We’ll provide a diagnostic review of your QuickBooks file(s) and related bookkeeping and accounting processes. We will review the file(s) for accuracy, aiming to understand existing processes like how income is recorded, bill pay, state and city tax filings, expense categorization, point of sale, payment processing, payroll, and more. After the diagnostic is complete, we will meet with you to review our findings, determine the scope of our work and provide estimates for the next phases.

  • 03. Onboarding + Implementation

    Once you’ve become a client, we’ll work through bringing on all your systems and materials. We’ll establish a flawless accounting system and get everything cleaned up and caught up to date. We focus on items such as correcting historic transactions, re-aligning the chart of accounts for better reporting, correcting balance sheet issues, etc.

  • 04. Recurring Services

    We’ll keep things humming and perform routine accounting and financial operations. Things will be easy from here on out!

  • 05. Process Improvements

    As things progress, and we become familiar with the ins and outs of your business, we will take notice of areas that we can provide excellent guidance and advice on. Common improvements include implementing an electronic bill payment service, an effective timekeeping system for employees, or payment processing software. If it can help improve operations and help you reach your goals, we are here for it!
